Outcome measures in large-vessel vasculitis: Relationship between patient, physician, imaging, and laboratory-based assessments

Rimland CA, Quinn KA, Rosenblum JS, et al. - In this prospective, observational cohort, individuals with giant cell arteritis (GCA) or Takayasu arteritis (TAK) were enrolled in order to evaluate the association between measures of disease evaluation in people with large-vessel vasculitis. Reviews were carried out on 112 people (GCA = 56, TAK = 56), over 296 visits, with a median follow-up of 6 months. In large-vessel vasculitis, measures of disease evaluation comprised of independent, but complementary outcomes, raising the requirement to produce composite outcome measures or a standard set of measures covering various types of outcomes.
