Journal of Voice Apr 29, 2018
Rumbach A, et al. - Experts systematically identified all available studies reporting outcomes measures to evaluate treatment outcomes for people with spasmodic dysphonia (SD). They noted many and varied outcome measures used in SD treatment studies. The outcome measures identified mainly measure constructs within the Body Functions component of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Findings suggested infrequence of the outcomes that explored communication and participation in everyday life and attitudes toward communication (ie, activity and participation domains). The development of a core outcome set was recommended for facilitating data synthesis across trials.
