Goldman AL, et al. - Herein, the authors undertook an evaluation of the changes in household spending on health care in US adults after implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Data illustrated a correlation between the implementation of the ACA with reduced out-of-pocket spending, especially for low-income individuals. Nevertheless, persistent high-burden out-of-pocket and premium spending were experienced by several of these individuals. It was reported that repeal or significant reversal of the ACA would particularly harm poor and low-income Americans.
