Otitis media with effusion in nasal polyposis and outcomes following surgery: A longitudinal observational study
Clinical Otolaryngology Aug 03, 2018
Lisan Q, et al. - Authors evaluated whether or not otitis media with effusion (OME) could represent a marker of resistance to the surgical treatment of nasal polyposis (NP). OME was not seen to be a marker of surgical resistance in patients with NP. Findings suggested a similar management of those patients vs patients without, and following surgery, similar outcomes should be expected. In multivariate Cox regression analyses, a similar re-operation rate was seen in patients with OME vs patients without OME and a similar recurrence rate of polyps.
