Osteoporotic vertebral fractures: Predictive factors for conservative treatment failure- A systematic review
European Spine Journal | Oct 18, 2017
Muratore M, et al. - This study focused on the predictors (clinical, radiographic and magnetic resonance) for risk of complications and conservative treatment failure of osteoporotic vertebral fractures. Shape and level of the fracture were identified as the risk factors related to the progression of collapse, pseudoarthrosis, kyphotic deformity and neurologic impairment. A frequent association of MRI findings with conservative treatment failure was obvious. If possible, prediction of prognosis at the early fracture stage might allow consideration of more aggressive treatment options, rather than conservative ones.
