Osteogenic differentiation in dedifferentiated liposarcoma: A study of 36 cases in comparison to the cases without ossification
Histopathology Nov 04, 2017
Yamashita K, et al. - Researchers investigated if the formed bone tissue was usually produced by tumor cells or by reactive non-neoplastic cells. Additionally, they intended to disclose the clinicopathological features of dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) with ossification. It was determined that the bone tissue formed in DDLPS appeared to be mostly neoplastic, irrespective of its morphology and maturity. This data underscored the osteogenic differentiation of the tumor cells. DDLPS patients with osteogenic differentiation exhibited the likelihood of suffering from earlier local recurrences, which did not necessarily result in poor life outcomes.
