Orofacial symptoms and oral health-related quality of life in juvenile idiopathic arthritis: A two-year prospective observational study

Pediatric Rheumatology Jul 19, 2018

Rahimi H, et al. - Researchers studied the long-term changes in self-reported orofacial symptoms, and defined the effect of orofacial symptoms on oral health-related quality of life in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). In a cohort of JIA patients followed over 2 years, the common findings were self-reported orofacial pain and functional disability. In most patients, these symptoms seem to persist over time and demonstrate a notable negative effect on oral health-related quality of life.
