Oral vancomycin induces sustained deep remission in adult patients with ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis

de Chambrun GP, et al. - This analysis focused on the impact of oral vancomycin treatment in three subjects with ulcerative colitis (UC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) refractory to conventional and biologic therapies. In all three patients, maintenance treatment with oral vancomycin was well tolerated and was effective for sustained clinical and endoscopic remission. In two patients who did not have pre-existing cirrhosis, results indicated that oral vancomycin improved liver function tests.
