Oral immunotherapy for peanut allergy (PACE): A systematic review and meta-analysis of efficacy and safety

Chu DK, et al. - Systematically reviewed, randomized controlled trials for oral immunotherapy were suggested by the investigators for peanut allergy, to check the efficacy and safety of it compared to the allergen avoidance or placebo (no oral immunotherapy). Screen studies, data extraction, and risk of bias independently in duplicate were assessed. Despite effectively inducing desensitization, high-certainty evidence suggested that available peanut oral immunotherapy regimens considerably increased allergic and anaphylactic reactions over avoidance or placebo, In patients with peanut allergy. Precise randomized controlled trials that assess the patient and safer peanut allergy treatment approaches and outcomes were suggested.
