Huang H, et al. - The researchers performed this study to elucidate whether optimal iodine supplementation during anti-thyroid drug therapy for Graves’ disease (GD) was correlated with lower recurrence rates than iodine restriction. For GD, optimal dietary iodine supplementation during anti-thyroid drug therapy was associated with lower recurrence rates than iodine restriction. Thus, in the management of GD, diet control with strict iodine restriction could be an adverse factor.
