Optic nerve sheath diameter measured using early unenhanced brain computed tomography shows no correlation with neurological outcomes in patients undergoing targeted temperature management after cardiac arrest
Resuscitation May 18, 2018
Lee DH, et al. - A prospective multi-centre observational study was performed to determine the association between the optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) on early brain computed tomography (CT) and neurological outcomes in patients undergoing targeted temperature management (TTM). Data from the Korean Hypothermia Network prospective registry between November 2015 and October 2016 was used to identify out-of-cardiac arrest patients who underwent brain CT within 2 h after return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). Outcomes suggested no correlation of ONSD on initial brain CT after ROSC with neurological outcome at 6 months in patients who underwent TTM.
