Optic nerve infiltration in primary central nervous system lymphoma
JAMA Neurology Oct 29, 2017
Ahle G, et al. - In this present study, the clinical presentation of optic nerve infiltration (ONI), it's imaging characteristics, and outcome were described. ONI was seen to be an atypical and challenging presentation of primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). Compared with vitreoretinal lymphomas, it's visual and systemic prognosis was particularly poor even in response to chemotherapy. Lymphomatous ONI was rare and characterized by rapidly progressive severe visual impairment although intraocular involvement was frequent in PCNSL and clinically marked by slowly progressive visual deterioration.
