Injury Mar 03, 2021
Ricardo FF, Pablo DF, Juan RS, et al. - This study was undertaken to investigate clinical and radiological results of vertically unstable pelvic fractures managed by open reduction and navigated iliosacral screws. Researchers enrolled 11 patients with complex posterior ring fractures with vertical instability admitted to our hospital and managed with CT navigated iliosacral screws. Researchers assessed vertical displacement, pelvic deformity, and asymmetry. They applied Tornetta and Matta’s criteria were to evaluate the quality of pelvic reduction. After an anatomic reduction of the fracture, CT navigated IS screws provide enough stability. No complication related to screw insertion was found and adequate screw positioning was achieved in all the cases.
