One-year survival after in-hospital cardiac arrest: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Resuscitation Sep 14, 2018
Schluep M, et al. - As in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) is a major adverse event with an incidence of 1-6 per 1000 admissions, researchers conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis of 40 studies to quantitatively summarize 1-year survival after IHCA. Outcomes indicated poor 1-year survival for patients after IHCA. Those admitted to cardiac wards, however, demonstrated higher survival, and a modest improvement in 1-year survival rates was observed with the time trend between 1985 and 2018.
