One-year outcomes of sialendoscopic-assisted salivary duct surgery for sialadenitis without sialolithiasis
The Laryngoscope Aug 31, 2018
Plonowska KA, et al. - In chronic obstructive sialadenitis without sialolithiasis (COSWS), researchers examined the durability of long-term outcomes in sialendoscopy-assisted salivary duct surgery (SASDS). Results demonstrated the efficacy of SASDS in reducing symptoms in duct stenosis and radioiodine-induced sialadenitis (RAI-IS), usually with durable treatment benefits at long-term follow-up. Compared to proximal/multifocal stenoses, distal stenoses appear to be more amenable to sialendoscopic treatment, achieving greater symptom reduction.
