Gross T, et al. - Experts evaluated younger and elderly adults after major trauma including traumatic brain injury (TBI) to compare the differences in 1-year functional or health-related quality of life (HRQoL) outcomes, like the Glasgow Outcome Score (GOS), the Quality of Life after Brain Injury (QOLIBRI) score, or the medical outcomes study Short Form-36 (SF-36). Because the rising rehabilitation demands of the elderly, use of specific outcome scores like the QOLIBRI in this age group was suggested up to at least 80 years of age independent of the severity of TBI sustained.
