BMC Ophthalmology Mar 15, 2018
Tian M, et al. - The safety and effectiveness of accelerated transepithelial corneal collagen cross-linking (ATE-CXL) in children with progressive keratoconus were evaluated herein. For pediatric progressive keratoconus patients, ATE-CXL was noted to be a safe and effective treatment. No complications were found in any case during or after ATE-CXL. Researchers noted an improvement in the best-corrected visual acuity from 0.64 ± 0.32 preoperatively to 0.69 ± 0.32 1-year postoperatively.
