OMERACT Hip Inflammation MRI Scoring System (HIMRISS) assessment in longitudinal study
The Journal of Rheumatology Sep 06, 2019
Jaremko JL, Lambert RGW, Pedersen SJ, et al. - The reliability, feasibility, and responsiveness of Hip Inflammation MRI Scoring System (HIMRISS) for bone marrow lesions (BML) in hip osteoarthritis (OA) were examined. Eight readers scored HIMRISS in 360 hips of 90 patients imaged pre/post-hip steroid injection. For BML status, HIMRISS displayed excellent reliability. Although small changes occur post-injection, reliability of BML change scores was high and moderate in the femur and in the acetabulum, respectively. Findings support preferring HIMRISS for further assessment of hip BML in OA, and evaluating it for use in other arthropathies.
