Oligorecurrent nodal prostate cancer: Long-term results of an elective nodal irradiation approach
American Journal of Clinical Oncology Sep 29, 2018
Tran S, et al. - In prostate cancer (PCa) patients with oligorecurrent nodal disease after primary treatment, researchers assessed the long-term outcomes of elective nodal radiotherapy (ENRT). They retrospectively reviewed the data of 53 oligorecurrent PCa patients (N1 and/or M1a) with ≤5 nodal metastases (n=108) treated with ENRT combined with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) between 2004 and 2016. Findings suggested that, as salvage therapy for patients with oligorecurrent nodal PCa, ENRT combined with short-course ADT was safe and efficacious. Lesions out of the ENRT field were presented by 17 of 19 clinically relapsing patients, and 10 were again oligometastatic.
