Oligodendroglial tumours: Subventricular zone involvement and seizure history are associated with CIC mutation status
BMC Neurology Jun 23, 2019
Liu Z, et al. - Using imaging and genomic data from the Cancer Genome Atlas and the Cancer Imaging Archive (TCGA/TCIA), researchers studied if there were connections between capicua transcriptional repressor (CIC) gene mutation status, MR features and clinical characteristics. Participants in the study were 59 patients with oligodendroglial tumors. Using Chi-square test and binary logistic regression analysis, differences between CIC mutation and CIC wild-type were tested. In univariate analysis, CIC mutation status was linked to the clinical variables and MR characteristics, including subventricular zone (SVZ) involvement, volume, and seizure history. According to findings, lack of seizure history and SVZ involvement (−) was related to an increased incidence of CIC mutation.
