Choi JS, et al. - The relationship between olfactory dysfunction and cognition was evaluated by the authors, among a cohort of older adults in the United States. An independent link was brought to light between the objectively measured olfactory dysfunction with cognitive impairment. These findings hinted towards the usefulness of objective olfactory tests as an indicator of cognitive impairment when compared to the self-reported olfactory dysfunction, which was an uncertain indicator.
