Hoehn ME, et al. - The ocular complications related to bone marrow transplant and correlated continued maintenance therapy were comprehensively analyzed by the experts in a preschool cohort. Screening examinations by a pediatric or general ophthalmologist were recommended at least annually, owing to the high incidence of cataract formation in this population, especially among those enduring a treatment regimen with total body irradiation. A low threshold was also urged by the researchers for the treatment of dry eye syndrome.
