Occupational physical activity and lung cancer risk: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Sports Medicine Jul 15, 2020
Rana B, Hu L, Harper A, et al. - The impact on lung cancer risk by occupational physical activity was assessed via this systematic review with meta-analysis of observational studies. Peer-reviewed articles from prospective cohort and case–control investigations were found on PubMed/Medline and Embase that examined the link between occupational physical activity and lung cancer risk. The inclusion criteria were fulfilled by eight journal articles out of 2,065 that were identified. Review findings indicate a higher risk of lung cancer in correlation with high-level occupational physical activity among men. A 15% higher risk of lung cancer was seen in men with high-level occupational physical activity vs those engaging in low/sedentary-level occupational physical activity. No association was observed among women
