Obstructive sleep apnea and cerebral white matter change: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Ho BL, et al. - The researchers carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the mutual relationships between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and white matter changes (WMCs). They used random-effects models for pooled estimates calculation. In the meta-analysis, an aggregate of 22 studies were included. The results of this study revealed that OSA was associated with a higher prevalence and more severe WMCs. According to the findings obtained, the patients with WMCs had an increased association with moderate-to-severe OSA.
