Muelleman T, et al. - The impact of body mass index (BMI) on operative time was investigated by the researchers in tympanoplasties and tympanomastoidectomies. The yielded data exhibited that the body habitus of obese patients could force the otologic surgeon to adapt. Nevertheless, obese patients did not report a statistically prominent longer mean operative time for tympanoplasties and tympanomastoidectomies when compared to patients with a lower BMI.
