Thrombosis Research Mar 07, 2018
Prasca S, et al. - The effect of obesity on acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) therapy-associated venous thromboembolism (VTE) in children was determined. A greter than three-fold increased risk for symptomatic VTE was noted due to obesity. Up to one-third of the patients presented with VTE (symptomatic and asymptomatic) in a subgroup who underwent active screening. It was determined that thromboelastography (TEG) did not suggest VTE.
