Obesity and rates of clinical remission and low MRI inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis

George MD, et al. - The effect of obesity on achieving clinical and imaging definitions of low disease activity is assessed in this study. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and obesity have lower rates of Disease Activity Score using 28 joints (DAS28) remission but similar rates of low MRI activity compared with patients without obesity, proposing that obesity and its related comorbidities can bias clinical disease activity measures.
