Nurse practitioners, physician assistants and physicians are comparable in managing the first five years of diabetes
American Journal of Medicine Sep 15, 2017
Yang Y, et al. - This research explored the quality of care provided by nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs) and physicians in the management of first 5 years of diabetes. A comparable management was brought to light between NPs and PAs with the physicians, at diagnosis and during 4 years of follow-up. The Veterans Health Administration (VA) model for roles of NPs and PAs could be beneficial for meeting the demand for primary care providers (PCPs) in the US.
