Novel microforceps technique developed for endothelial surgical procedures
Cornea Dec 04, 2020
Berry JC, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for developing a more efficient and less traumatic method of Descemet membrane removal in endothelial surgery. In order to facilitate grasping and extraction of a host Descemet membrane, a novel, vertically oriented, reverse-grasping microforceps (named the Rabiyah Descemet Membrane Removal Microforceps) were created. This latest instrument has been successfully and safely used by 4 surgeons in more than 85 cases of endothelial keratoplasty. In endothelial surgical procedures, the Rabiyah Descemet Membrane Removal Microforceps gives surgeons a safe and successful option to remove the Descemet membrane.
