Novel associations between parental and newborn cord blood metabolic profiles in the Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Cohort Study
BMC Medicine Apr 18, 2021
Øyri LKL, Bogsrud MP, Christensen JJ, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for describing the connections between maternal and paternal peri-pregnancy lipid and metabolic profile and newborn cord blood lipid and metabolic profile. This investigation is based on 710 mother–father–newborn trios from the Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Cohort Study and utilises data from Norway's Medical Birth Registry. Several cord blood metabolites were linked to maternal and paternal metabolites, as well as newborn sex. This may have an impact on the offspring's long-term risk of cardiovascular disease.
