Nonsurgical treatments for extramammary paget disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Dermatology Apr 17, 2020
Snast I, Sharon E, Kaftory R, et al. - The published evidence for the efficacy and safety of nonsurgical modes of therapy for extramammary Paget disease (EMPD) were reviewed. They performed systematic review including 43 observational studies (341 patients; 7 prospective cohort studies, 19 retrospective cohort studies, and 17 cases series). In these studies, five treatment modalities were evaluated. Per outcomes, the most appropriate nonsurgical modalities for EMPD treatment were imiquimod and radiotherapy given their good efficacy and safety profile. Although PDT has limited efficacy, it could be relevant in selected clinical settings.
