Nonsurgical management of human immunodeficiency virus-associated parotid cysts: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Naik AN, et al. - Authors conducted a systematic and meta-analysis review to evaluate the efficacy of nonsurgical management options for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-associated parotid cysts. They noted 52.8%, 55.5%, and 33.3%, respectively, to be the average rates of complete response for antiretroviral therapy (ART). Radiotherapy had the highest number of reported outcomes in the literature, among nonsurgical treatment modalities for HIV-associated parotid cysts. Data demonstrated that higher dose radiotherapy had higher rates of achieving a complete response.
