Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is associated with increased risk of reflux esophagitis

Yang HJ, et al. - The association between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and the development of reflux esophagitis was investigated in this study. Independent of possible confounders, participants with NAFLD showed an increased incidence of reflux esophagitis, implying that NAFLD contributed to the development of reflux esophagitis, in this large cohort of Korean men and women.
