Nodular hyperplasia of the Bartholin gland, a benign mimicker of aggressive angiomyxoma: A case series and literature review
International Journal of Gynecologic Pathology Oct 13, 2018
Tseng TA, et al. – In this case series, researchers assessed four cases of nodular hyperplasia (NH) of the Bartholin gland, a very rare benign solid lesion of the female genital tract that can mimic the Bartholin gland cyst clinically. Upon analysis from four NH cases from Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island, they identified microscopic features of lobular proliferation of acini and inspissated mucin. Findings indicated that NH should be considered in the differential diagnosis of an enlarged Bartholin gland.
