No association between proton pump inhibitor use and risk of dementia: Evidence from a meta-analysis

Hussain S, Singh A, Zameer S, et al. - Researchers sought to examine whether proton pump inhibitor (PPI) use is associated with dementia risk. Searching PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane till March 31, 2019, they identified 12 studies (eight cohort and four case-control) for inclusion. The majority of these studies were of high quality. The analysis revealed that PPI use is not significantly associated with the risk of dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
