International Clinical Psychopharmacology Sep 29, 2017
Kahan NR, et al. - The clinicians investigated the association between bipolar disorder and cancer through linkage analysis of a national HMO database and a national cancer registry. Among women, they observed a nonstatistically significant association between breast cancer and bipolar disorder (BD) (SIR=1.24, 95% CI: 0.79-1.86). These findings did not support previously reported associations between BD and elevated cancer risk.
