Schieren M, et al. – This study provides an update of a whole range of new airway techniques meant for airway management in tracheal resections. This research yielded evidence for several theoretical benefits of these new approaches but more explorations are required to establish criteria for patient selection and evaluate procedural safety. In light of the low level of evidence, outcome–related risks and benefits of these airway techniques can not be currently compared.
