Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio is associated with survival and sentinel lymph node positivity in invasive cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma: A retrospective study
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Oct 29, 2021
Maeda T, Hiura A, Uehara J, et al. - Findings demonstrate usefulness of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as a biomarker in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) as it is not only simple to measure but can also predict prognosis.
A single-center retrospective case series to determine the association between the NLR and the disease-specific survival (DSS) and sentinel lymph node (SLN) positivity in cSCC cases.
Patients with cSCC who had blood tests before the initiation of treatment were analyzed.
Increased NLR was an independent prognostic factor for poor DSS.
An elevated NLR was identified as a predictive factor for SLN positivity.
