Wikberg ML, et al. - An elucidation was carried out of the prognostic role of infiltrating neutrophils at various intratumoral subsites and in different molecular subgroups of colorectal cancer (CRC). Low infiltration of neutrophils in the tumor front served as an independent prognostic factor for a poorer patient prognosis in the initial stages of colon cancers. In order to comprehend the biological role of neutrophils in colorectal carcinogenesis, advanced research was warranted.
