Neutropenia is associated with an increased risk of subsequent antibody- mediated rejection in lung transplant recipients
The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation Apr 05, 2020
Tague LK, et al. - Researchers examined if and how the development of post-transplant neutropenia is associated with subsequent antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) in a population of adult lung transplant recipients. They conducted a single center retrospective cohort study of 228 lung transplant recipients. Among these, 101 (42.1%) developed neutropenia. Outcomes suggest an increased risk of subsequent AMR in correlation with the development of neutropenia in lung transplant recipients. They observed lower AMR-free survival among patients with severe moderate and severe neutropenia vs those with mild or no neutropenia.
