Neutropenia in pediatric heart transplant recipients
Pediatric Transplantation Mar 01, 2018
Rose-Felker K, et al. - The goal of this study was to figure out neutropenia's prevalence and impact on infection, rejection, and survival in pediatric heart transplant recipients. No prominent variation was discovered in the survival, ANC, rate of rejection or PTLD in neutropenic patients with and without infection at median follow-up (5.5 years). As per the outcomes, neutropenia was common in pediatric heart transplant recipients. A <20% risk of associated infection was found with neutropenia, which was similar to non-neutropenic patients. Experts did not determine any increase in the mortality due to infection in neutropenic patients.
