Neuropsychiatric lupus or not? Cerebral hypoperfusion by perfusion-weighted MRI in normal-appearing white matter in primary neuropsychiatric lupus erythematosus
Annals of Rheumatic Diseases Feb 16, 2018
Papadaki E, et al. - Authors analyzed whether dynamic susceptibility contrast-enhanced perfusion MRI (DSC-MRI), a minimally invasive and widely available method of cerebral perfusion assessment, aided in neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE) diagnosis. The characteristic feature of primary NPSLE was significant hypoperfusion in the cerebral white matter that appeared normal on conventional MRI (cMRI). The NPSLE diagnosis could be improved via the combination of DSC-MRI-measured blood flow in the brain semioval center with conventional MRI.
