Neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) upregulated by IL-6/STAT3 signalling contributes to invasion in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms
Human Pathology Jul 07, 2018
Yang Y, et al. - The role of Neuropilin-1 (NRP-1) in improving treatment and determining the prognosis of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (pNEN) was examined in this analysis. By Western blot, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and immunocytochemistry upon exposure to interleukin-6 (IL-6), the expression of NRP-1 in pNEN tissue samples and pNEN cell line BON1 were investigated. It was observed that high NRP-1 expression was strongly correlated with tumor grades, lymph node metastasis, and tumor-node-metastasis stages. Findings revealed that NRP-1 was upregulated in pNEN and was associated with the metastatic capacity of pNEN cells, potentially via interaction with the IL-6/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signaling pathway.
