Neurological soft signs in bipolar and unipolar disorder: A case-control study
Psychiatry Research Jan 22, 2018
Al Sagheer T, et al. - Physicians designed this case-control study to determine the prevalence of neurological soft signs (NSS) and to investigate the association of sociodemographic characteristics with the occurrence of NSS in patients with bipolar disorder and unipolar depression compared to healthy controls. NSS could be specifically correlated with bipolar disorder. However, no association with unipolar depression was noted. The specificity of NSS expression had the potential to help the discrimination of bipolar disorder from disorders less likely to have a neurodevelopmental component such as major depression.
