Neurofascin-155 IgM autoantibodies in patients with inflammatory neuropathies
Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry Jun 29, 2018
Doppler K, et al. - Given that IgG autoantibodies against different paranodal proteins have been detected, allowing for crucial advances in inflammatory neuropathy management, a large cohort of patients with inflammatory neuropathies for IgM autoantibodies against neurofascin-155, neurofascin-186 or contactin-1 was screened. In this cohort, the researchers did not identify IgM anti-neurofascin-186 or anti-contactin-1 antibodies. Results of this study suggested that IgM neurofascin-155 autoantibodies might be worth testing in subjects with inflammatory neuropathies.
