Neonatal outcomes in women with polycystic ovary syndrome after frozen-thawed embryo transfer
Fertility and Sterility Dec 05, 2020
Lin J, Guo H, Wang B, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective cohort study to compare the likelihood of adverse neonatal outcomes following frozen embryo transfer (FET) among women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with those of women without PCOS. The sample consisted of 1,167 singletons born to mothers with PCOS and 9,995 singletons born to mothers without PCOS after FET during the period from January 1, 2007, to December 31, 2019. An independent association was found between the diagnosis of PCOS and increased odds of preterm birth among women with singleton pregnancies by FET. Furthermore, decreased odds of low birth weight and small for gestational age have been observed among patients with PCOS, but the increased odds have not been observed in the subset analysis of patients with PCOS with normal BMI.
