Coccolini F, et al. - This meta-analysis was conducted with the aim to evaluate the effects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) on advanced gastric cancer (AGC) and esophago-gastric cancer (EGC). In gastric and esophago-gastric cancer, NACT led to a reduction in mortality, but did not influence morbidity and peri-operative mortality. A reduction in overall recurrence rate was also noted with NACT in esophago-gastric cancer.
