Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Oct 06, 2017
Tarsitano A, et al. - This paper dealt with the formulation of a protocol for preoperative mapping of tumour margins via computed tomography and/or magnetic resonance imaging, virtual planning of the surgical resection, and intraoperative navigation during actual resection of advanced maxillary tumours. An improvement could be reported in the tumour-free margin status through this navigation-guided resection protocol, among patients with advanced maxillary tumours. In order to strengthen the yielded results and advantages of this procedure, further exploration was necessitated.
