Siegler A, et al. – The topic under analysis here was the proportion of candidates who used naloxone within 12 months following training and factors linked with witnessing overdose and naloxone use. It was found that witnessing an overdose and naloxone use was common among the overdose prevention training (OPT) trainees. Training individuals at high risk for witnessing overdoses could aid in reducing the opioid overdose mortality at a population level if adequate numbers of potential responders were equipped with naloxone.
