N-terminal prosomatostatin and risk of vascular dementia

Holm H, et al. – The association of circulating N–terminal prosomatostatin (NT–proSST) with incident dementia was evaluated among community–dwelling older adults. In community–dwelling older adults, higher levels of circulating N–terminal–prosomatostatin were correlated with increased incidence of vascular dementia. For the understanding of dementia development in older adults, these findings could be of importance.
